Alvarez provides a very wide range of guitars that will fit the needs and wants of practically any player.  You can find an Alvarez acoustic guitar being played on your local street corner or in the hippest club.

Alvarez RD10

I bought this guitar several years ago as my "beginner" guitar.  When I bought it, I picked it up for $100 used but these days you can find one now for $100-150 brand new!  While I have had several guitars since this one, this Alvarez acoustic guitar is my "beat around" guitar that I take with me and not have to worry about being super careful with.  That is not to say that this "beater" does not sound good.  If I lost this Alvarez acoustic guitar I would definitely be looking for one just like it.

The features are fairly basic (why get too fancy?):

  • Select spruce top
  • Mahogany sides and back
  • Tuners are die-cast
  • Basic natural finish

I would definitely recommend the Alvarez acoustic guitar RD10 as a beginner guitar or even  a "beater" for an accomplished player.

Alvarez AD60SC

This is a mid-level acoustic-electric guitar.  The list price is $600 but you can find it for around $350 or lower.  While I have heard of people having problems with the electronic pickups, this is not the case for most.  When you consider the price, the electronics on this Alvarez acoustic guitar is actually worth more than the price that you can pick this up for.  If you have ever paid to have electronic pickups installed on an acoustic guitar you know that it is not cheap!

  • Top is made of spruce
  • Sides and back are mahogany
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • System 600T MKII electronics
